FEAR FACTORY Drummer Comments On 'Rainbow Six' Soundtrack
August 16, 2005Calvin Records, an imprint of Liquid 8, has announced that it has aligned itself with the much-anticipated "Rainbow Six" video game to include two songs by the label's leading artist FEAR FACTORY.
Available on both X-Box and PS2 on September 6, 2005, "Rainbow Six" will feature the band's hit song "Lockdown" as well as a re-recorded version of the game's theme song.
Drummer Raymond Herrera, who is no stranger to the video game world with his own production company 3Volution, believes that there is a natural synergy between music and video games and is hoping to have the band’s songs appear in more upcoming releases.
"The relationship between music and other media can no longer be denied," he says. "In today's technology-driven marketplace it just makes sense to align ourselves with projects like 'Rainbow Six'. The way we see it, all the lines will soon be blurred when it comes to entertainment and we aren't afraid to embrace it."
In addition to "Rainbow Six", FEAR FACTORY is also working on a remix of "Demanufacture" for the upcoming PSP game "Infected" which is slated for an October 31 release.
Mike Catain, Calvin Records owner and CEO, says that these new relationships that the label is building are just one part of the company's overall business strategy.
"We'd be foolish to ignore the opportunities that exist between music and other forms of media," he says. "As an innovative company that has built its reputation on 'thinking outside the box,' forging relationships with video games and other outlets is just another way for us to enhance our brand identity and garner more exposure for our artists."
FEAR FACTORY is currently on the road with Dave Mustaine's Gigantour promoting its newest album "Transgression", which is set for release August 23 via Calvin Records.
